Venice LNG obtains the authorization decree for the construction and operation of the LNG storage terminal
In late December 2020, The Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport, in agreement with Veneto Region, issued the Authorization Decree for the construction and operation of the LNG storage terminal in Porto Marghera.

The authorization includes all the opinions expressed by the Authorities involved in the authorization procedure and incorporates the requirements to be fulfilled by Venice LNG before and during the construction and operation of the coastal storage facility.

The project is promoted and supported by the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority and co-financed by the European Commission under the CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) initiative through the “Gainn4SEA” and “Venice LNG Facility” projects, for a total of 18.5 million euros.

About Venice LNG

Venice LNG is a new company born at the end of 2017 and aimed at creating the “supply point” in Porto Marghera (i.e. an LNG storage facility for storage and handling), investing on the most important fuel alternative to oil and its derivates, and that will be the cleanest and most reliable energy source in the next decades. Venice LNG benefits of the experience and the know-how of its sole shareholder Decal Spa, a company that has been operating for more than 50 years in Porto Marghera in the storage of oil-derivates, chemical and petrochemical products, as well as biofuels and vegetal oil.
