Aker Solutions has been awarded two three-year contracts for the supply and installation of surface wellheads and surface trees to projects offshore India and Indonesia. The two contracts have a combined value of approximately USD 30 million.
One three-year contract is with Chevron Indonesia, who will use the wellheads and trees for a field development in Sumatra. This is one of the most significant contracts Aker Solutions has been awarded in Indonesia with regard to surface wellheads and trees.
The other three-year contract is with BG Exploration and Production India Limited (BG India). This is for delivery of surface trees and wellheads in connection with the petroleum operations in the Panna-Mukta and Mid & South Tapti fields (the 'PMT Fields') offshore India's west coast.
"Although similar in terms of deliverables, these contracts are symbolically very different. The contract with Chevron Indonesia is a breakthrough contract for us in Indonesia, while we have delivered surface equipment in connection with the operations in the PMT Fields dating back to 1996. The latter demonstrates that we deliver on our promises, which is something we are keen to do for the first time with Chevron Indonesia," says Egil Martinussen, senior vice president Asia-Pacific, Aker Solutions.
Project management and manufacturing will be performed at Aker Solutions facility in Batam, Indonesia.
The contract party is Aker Solutions Singapore Pte Ltd.
