Third Energy has been awarded two licences as Operator in the 14th Onshore Licensing Round announced 17 December 2015. Offshore, the company has also become an Exploration Operator for the first time with the award of Licence P2284 in the recent 28th Seaward Licensing Round, supplementing its existing non-operated offshore assets portfolio in the North Sea.

The onshore licences, awarded in partnerships with groups operated by Third Energy UK Gas Limited, are in paired block NZ51 and NZ52b/52c and blocks SE99a and TA09. Both licences are in the Cleveland Basin in the North East of England where the company's onshore activites are focused.

The NZ52b/52c block straddles the River Tees between Middlesbrough and Redcar with Block NZ51 located due south. Block TA09 is located north of Scarborough running up the east coast with Block SE99a located to the west. Both blocks are contiguous with Third Energy's existing Licence PL077.

Offshore, Licence P2284 in Block 44/27 awarded to Third Energy Offshore Limited, is in the gas prone Southern North Sea, the same area as the company's other existing offshore assets which include the exciting Pegasus discovery.
