Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) has recently awarded Tebodin & Partner in Oman a two year engineering services contract.

The scope of work will comprise of engineering services for maintenance and expansion projects in Orpic’s refineries and petrochemical plants in Sohar and Muscat. Besides the engineering services contract, Tebodin has an agreement with Orpic for the supply of engineering manpower to the refinery.

The contract covers the following Orpic locations: Sohar Refinery, Aromatics Plant and Polypropylene Plant situated in the port of Sohar, as well as Mina Al Fahal Refinery in Muscat. The work for the three Sohar assets will be managed by Tebodin’s office in Sohar, and the work for Mina Al Fahal Refinery is scheduled to be done by Tebodin’s Muscat office.

The contract, together with other work expected in Sohar, will give Tebodin in Sohar a boost, with an expected growth of the staff from 28 now to approximately 50 people early 2013, with a focus on discipline engineers, designers and project managers.
