Sulzer received from Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) two Long-Term, exclusive, Supply Agreement Contracts for the supply of Structured Packings and Random Packings to all their Refineries in Brazil.
Through these Contracts, Petrobras will benefit from guaranteed supply of state-of-the-art and most efficient Structured and Random Packing, allowing them to remain competitive and access new levels of product quality. Sulzer will instead have a unique opportunity to consolidate and further expand the already large installed base in Petrobras refineries.
Structured packing is one of Sulzer core abilities. Over 50 years of experience in development, design, and production of this type of packing makes Sulzer the best partner to find the optimum solution for the application of Petrobras.
Sulzer Mellapak™, the most widely used structured packing worldwide, and Sulzer MellapakPlus™, the latest generation of structured packing, are included in the related Supply Agreement Contract.
Sulzer extensive portfolio also offers traditional and high-performance Random Packings, including Nutter Rings™, I-Rings™ and P-Rings™. Those products are included in the second Supply Agreement Contract received.
Besides of the supply of Structured and Random Packing, Petrobras will also jointly receive by Sulzer technical services such as local process support and site supervision during installation.

About Petrobras
We have upwards of 100 production platforms, 16 refineries, 30,000 kilometers of pipelines and more than 6,000 service stations. Our proved reserves are around 14 billion barrels of oil, a figure expected to double in the next few years. With the discovery of oil and gas in the pre-salt region, Brazil may become the world's fourth biggest oil producer in 2030.
We have built a track record of overcoming challenges since 1953, when the company was created. The main one was developing technology to explore and produce oil in deep and ultra-deep waters, where upwards of 90% of our reserves are nestled. With innovation and daringness, we are now the Brazilian company that makes the applies for the most patents in Brazil and abroad.
