Statoil has expanded its presence in automated petrol stations with the purchase of JET branded stations in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, from ConocoPhillips.
The transaction will allow Statoil to respond even better to the development of customers’ needs and consumption patterns.
ConocoPhillips’ JET branded automated stations will complement Statoil’s network of service stations. JET’s automated stations fit very well with Statoil’s model of operation and can be easily integrated into Statoil’s network of petrol stations.
With this purchase, Statoil will acquire 274 new automated stations, 39 in Norway, and 72 and 163 in Denmark and Sweden respectively.
Jacob Schram, Statoil's senior vice president for energy and retail (E&R) Europe said “This purchase gives further basis for the development of the best concepts for petrol station operations that we have managed to export to Poland, the Baltic states and Russia.”
The parties have chosen not to publish the purchase amount. Completion of the purchase is subject to approval by the European Commission.
