SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev held a meeting with the delegation of Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF).
Welcoming the guests, SOCAR President briefed them about the history and achievements of Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry, as well as regional and international projects carried out by SOCAR. He said French companies were successfully operating in Azerbaijan and involved in the energy projects, including development of “Absheron” gas-condensate field. Rovnag Abdullayev spoke about the development of Southern Gas Corridor project and mentioned the useful cooperation with the banks of France within the investment projects.
Marie-Ange Debon, Chairperson, Business Council of MEDEF International and Deputy Director General, SUEZ, expressed satisfaction with their visit to Azerbaijan and said they came with a large delegation representing thirty companies, including energy giants, representatives of which participated in this meeting. Mme Debon shared her impressions on the meetings held in Baku and said French companies looked forward to developing relations with Azerbaijan and joining the prospective investment projects. She said they visited the French Lyceum in Baku where learned about the SOCAR’s role in building and management of this lyceum.
The representatives of TOTAL E&P Europe & Central Asia Limited, ENGIE, SUEZ and other companies attended the meeting where they discussed the issues of interest of both sides.
