Shearwater GeoServices to Conduct Innovative Streamer & Node Survey for OMV (Norge) AS
Spanning 1040 sq.km, this hybrid survey will commence in July 2023 and last for three months. Shearwater's advanced vessels, SW Tasman and Oceanic Vega, will lead the operations. SW Tasman will operate as an ROV node deployment vessel for first time, following its conversion announced on 22nd October 2022 and will deploy the nodes before Oceanic Vega acquire the multi-Azimuth towed streamer survey.

"By completing the conversion of SW Tasman, Shearwater has adapted our fleet to control more operational factors inhouse as we meet the increased demand in the seabed market," said Irene Waage Basili, CEO of Shearwater. "We are looking forward to demonstrate our upgraded capabilities to OMV on this innovative towed and OBN hybrid survey."

Shearwater's involvement in the Berling project will support OMV in realizing the field's potential in sustaining Norway’s position as an important gas supplier to Europe, while also showcasing the company's commitment to driving innovation and providing top-tier geophysical services to the oil and gas industry.
