Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) won a contract to build a large offshore platform, the first order among Korean shipyards in 2017.

SHI revealed on January 5th 2017 that they are the winner of an international bid to build a KRW 1.5 trillion (US$ 1.27bn) FPU for a US operator.
The FPU weighs 58,000 tons with capacity of 110,000 barrels of oil and 25mcf of gas.

SHI is a proven offshore solution market leader with track record including Ichthys CPF and Prelude FLNG.

They are the only shipyard to win offshore newbuild contracts since 2015.
