RWE receives its first LNG delivery from Qatargas
Last month, RWE Supply & Trading received its first Qatari Liquefied Natural Gas(LNG)-shipment under the mid-term contract signed last year.

The shipment was made on the Q-Flex LNG vessel 'Al Karaana', and safely delivered to the GATE terminal in Rotterdam. The vessel, which has a length of 315 meters, was loaded at Ras Laffan Port in Qatar and took approximately three weeks for the voyage to the Netherlands. The discharge of the cargo was completed in 16 hours.

‘We are delighted to have received our first cargo under this contract. Qatargas continue to be an important partner for us regarding current and future business. This contract with them is also a key element in our supply portfolio and underpins our growth strategy in LNG’ says Andree Stracke, Chief Commercial Officer (Origination & Gas Supply) at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH.

RWE Supply & Trading and Qatargas, the World’s Premier LNG Company, announced a flexible Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) in 2016. Qatargas will deliver up to 1.1 million tonnes of LNG per annum to RWEST in North West Europe for seven and a half years.
