Phase I renovation project of Shymkent Refinery becomes operational
Phase I renovation project of Shymkent Refinery in Kazakhstan became operational as the 600kt/a ISOMAR started to produce gasoline of Euro IV and Euro V standards.

Jointly operated by CNPC and KazMunaiGas, Shymkent Refinery is one of the three largest refineries in Kazakhstan. The renovation project was launched in January 2014, aiming to realize production of Euro VI and Euro V gasoline in the first phase and resume designed capacity of 6Mt/a in the second phase.

Once the entire renovation project is completed, Shymkent Refinery will play a bigger role in promoting local gasoline quality, alleviating the tension of high-grade gasoline supply in Kazakhstan, and helping the country become independent from import of refined products.
