On December 10, CNPC's Tangshan LNG project, located in the Caofeidian Industrial Zone in the city of Tangshan, Hebei Province, started gas delivery, indicating that phase I of the project is put into operation.
Consisting of receiving terminals, a dock, and auxiliary facilities, the project is designed to have an annual capacity of 10 million tons, and to be built in two phases. Phase I includes four LNG storage tanks of 160,000 cubic meters' volume each, a dedicated unloading dock for LNG carriers with maximum capacity of 270,000 cubic meters, and auxiliary facilities for the terminals. With maximum gasification capacity of 24 million cubic meters per day, Phase I of the project is capable of delivering 8.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas per annum. Four more storage tanks of the same volume and one more berth are planned to be built in phase II.
Tangshan LNG project is jointly invested and constructed by PetroChina, Beijing Enterprises Group Company Limited, and Hebei Natural Gas Company Limited. It is CNPC's third LNG project after Jiangsu LNG and Dalian LNG projects.
