The Danish North Sea holds a potential of 3 billion barrels of oil. Our latest GeoStreamer PURE results indicate where some of it may be found.

A recent report by Denmark’s oil and gas authority concluded that the Danish part of the North Sea holds a potential of 3 billion barrels of oil. This is almost the same amount as what has been produced the last 50 years in the Danish part of the North Sea (3,8 billion barrels).

The next Denmark licensing round, scheduled for later this year, will aim to identify new hydrocarbon potential to fulfill that ambition. The latest PGS GeoStreamer PURE data applies the latest advanced imaging technologies to dual-sensor broadband seismic data. The results have revealed new plays, which may hold the key to unlocking that new potential.

The opportunity is not limited to Denmark. GeoStreamer PURE Central Graben is a vast dataset that spans Danish, UK and Norwegian territory, and the hydrocarbon bearing formations can be tracked across the boundaries.
