Petrobras: New well in Libra confirms extension of the discovery in the pre-salt block
Petrobras and his parners have concluded the drilling of well 3-BRSA-1305A-RJS (3-RJS-739A), located in the northwestern area of the Libra block, in the Santos Basin pre-salt cluster, and confirmed the discovery of oil of good quality in reservoirs of excellent productivity.

The well found an oil column measuring approximately 270 meters and high quality reservoirs in communication with other wells that had already been drilled in the area. Two formation tests, carried out in two separate intervals, confirmed these reservoirs' excellent productivity and the good quality of the oil (28º API), similar to what was found in wells 2-ANP-2A-RJS and 3-RJS-731.

We are currently drilling two other wells in the northwest area of the Libra block: 3-BRSA-1322-RJS (3-RJS-741) and 3-BRSA-1339-RJS (3-RJS-742). At the former, the oil carrier range was found through cable profiles - record of hydrocarbon formations traversed by the well - and fluid samples, which will be characterized by laboratory analyses. The well is currently at a depth of 5527 meters. The latter, 3-RJS-742, meanwhile, started being drilled on February 6.

These three wells are part of the activities of the Discovery Assessment Plan (DAP) for well 2-ANP-2A-RJS submitted to the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) on September 15, 2015, and currently in the approval process.

The Libra Consortium is formed by Petrobras (operator, 40%), Shell (20%), Total (20%), CNPC (10%), and CNOOC (10%), with contract management by Pré-Sal Petróleo S.A. (PPSA).

About Petrobras

We have upwards of 100 production platforms, 16 refineries, 30,000 kilometers of pipelines and more than 6,000 service stations. Our proved reserves are around 14 billion barrels of oil, a figure expected to double in the next few years. With the discovery of oil and gas in the pre-salt region, Brazil may become the world's fourth biggest oil producer in 2030.

We have built a track record of overcoming challenges since 1953, when the company was created. The main one was developing technology to explore and produce oil in deep and ultra-deep waters, where upwards of 90% of our reserves are nestled. With innovation and daringness, we are now the Brazilian company that makes the applies for the most patents in Brazil and abroad.
