Constitutional President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro held a work meeting with Chevron’s President for the Americas and Africa lay Neff, as well as with Chevron’s CEO assistant Ali Moshiri, with the aim to explore mechanisms allowing to continue the successful “win-win” trade relationship between Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) and Chevron before the economical blockade imposed by U.S. government against Venezuela, with special emphasis on American companies ‘ business operations in our country.
In view of the aggression generated by the illegal blockade decreed by U.S. President Donald Trump against Venezuelan people, President Nicolas Maduro reported Chevron executives the government’s willingness to keep the existing trading ties with this oil company, as well as the desire of maintaining foreign investment, in strict compliance with Venezuelan Constitution and its inalienable principles of self-determination, sovereignty and national development.
Executive Vice-president Tareck El Aissami, People’s Power Minister of Petroleum Eulogio Del Pino, People’s Power Minister of Planning Ricardo Menendez and President of PDVSA Nelson Martínez also partook in this high-level meeting along with President Maduro.
Likewise, President Maduro ratified the way for dialogue and a common search of solutions between Venezuelan government and Chevron in order to address this grave situation that has been created by U.S. government since President Trump decreed a financial and economical blockade against Venezuela, to take place from September 8th.
It is noteworthy that Bolivarian Revolution created the figure of Joint Venture companies to boost the sovereign development of the largest oil reserve in the world, located at Hugo Chavez Oil Belt, in Eastern Venezuela.
Venezuelan government representatives took the opportunity to reject an intended U.S. interventionism on Venezuelan soil, as well as to highlight the strengths of PDVSA and its commitment to Venezuelan people.
