1st January 2021, in the morning, LNG carrier 'Tristar Ruby' has arrived at the location of the Terminal, as the first LNG carrier to arrive to the Terminal, whereby the carrier was successfully moored in the special purpose port of the Terminal.
After all tests and safety checks were performed, LNG cargo transfer procedure from the LNG carrier on the FSRU vessel 'LNG CROATIA' has started.
The procedure is expected to last until January 3, 2021, after which the tanker 'Tristar Ruby' will leave the Terminal area and the special purpose port of the Terminal. This activity marks the start of Terminal commercial operation, in accordance with the planned deadlines.
About LNG Croatia
LNG Croatia LLC was established with the purpose of realization of the LNG terminal on the island of Krk, which is of strategic interest for the Republic of Croatia. In accordance with the Decisions of the Government of the Republic of Croatia declaring the LNG terminal on the island of Krk a strategic investment project for the Republic of Croatia, as well as in accordance with the Law on the Terminal for Liquefied Natural Gas (Official Gazette, No. 11/18), LNG Croatia LLC is designated as the developer of the investment of the LNG terminal project on the island of Krk i.e. as the investor who will carry out the project on behalf and for the account of the Republic of Croatia.
In accordance with the decisions of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the project will be realized in two phases. First phase being the construction of a floating LNG terminal and the second phase being the construction of an onshore LNG terminal on the island of Krk.
