LBC Tank Terminals (LBC) has taken the final investment decision to execute Project Rainbow 5 Phase A at its Rotterdam Terminal, advancing the next phase of the terminal’s multi-year expansion program. The project will add approximately 41,000 cubic meters of storage capacity, increasing the terminal’s total capacity to approximately 295,000 cubic meters and further strengthening its position as a key hub for chemical and energy transition flows.

The decision follows the recent commissioning of Project Rainbow 3, comprising 36 storage tanks and a rail tank car loading station. Delivered safely while maintaining reliability across a fully operational terminal, the expansion project stands as a testament to the expertise and commitment of the LBC team and sets the stage for continued growth.

Rainbow 5 Phase A includes the construction of 14 storage tanks, replacing legacy assets with next-generation facilities designed to enhance safety, efficiency and operational flexibility. Building on the sustainable development principles applied during previous expansion phases, the project will incorporate measures aimed at reducing environmental impact, such as material reuse and lower-carbon construction methods. Rainbow 5 Phase A also includes a second central truck loading station to support growing truck volumes and new connections to existing jetty infrastructure. Commissioning is targeted for end 2028.
