JGC Won the FEED Contract for Expansion of Malaysian LNG Plant
JGC Corporation announced that it has recently been awarded a contract from PETRONAS, Malaysia's state-owned oil company for the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) work and Early Works of Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) for PETRONAS LNG Train 9 Project which is located in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia

The contract which adopts a Dual FEED competition scheme will increase the existing LNG plant facilities with an additional capacity of 3.6 million ton/year. The FEED is planned to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012.

The execution of the works is managed by an Engineering team from JGC, Yokohama office. Previously, in 2011, JGC had successfully performed the pre-FEED for the project within a six (6) month period.

Starting in 1980s, over the course of 30 years, JGC has involved in performing the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) works for the existing eight (8) trains of the plant, as well as participating in Rejuvenation and Debottlenecking projects to increase the plant's production capacity.

JGC has been responsible for the construction of LNG plants worldwide accounting for about 30% of global LNG production capacity, and is currently involved in four ongoing LNG projects located in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and Australia, respectively. As a top contractor in the field, JGC will continue to tirelessly promote new developments in the LNG sector.
