JGC Awarded FEED Contract for LNG Project in Indonesia
JGC Corporation announced today that, in partnership with PT Rekayasa Industri, KBR Indonesia, and JGC's own local subsidiary JGC Indonesia, it has received a FEED (Front End Engineering Design) contract for an additional train at the Tangguh LNG project, located in West Papua, Indonesia. The contract was awarded by BP Berau, Ltd., under a competitive dual FEED scheme. The value of the contract was not disclosed. The FEED contract, scheduled for completion within 12 months of the Contract Commencement Date, calls for FEED work associated with LNG plant capacity expansion totaling 3.8 million tons per year. The plant is located in Teluk Bintuni, West Papua Province, about 3,200 km east of Jakarta.

The aim of the initial Tangguh LNG Project was to build a liquefaction plant for natural gas reserves from an offshore field off the coast of Papua. JGC, in partnership with KBR, began engineering, procurement, and construction work on the original two-train project in 2005, and production began in 2009. With the addition of a third train, the plant's total production capacity is scheduled to increase to 11.4 million tons per year.

JGC was evaluated highly for the receipt of this FEED contract, based on our technical capability, our highly advanced LNG technology and commercial offer.

JGC has constructed LNG plants comprising around 30% of the world's total production capacity, and is currently involved in numerous ongoing LNG projects in Indonesia, Australia, Russia, Malaysia, and Canada. Moving forward, JGC will continue to be active in promoting LNG business, as a top global LNG contractor.
