Iranian Firms Sign Contracts to Study Gas Pipeline to Oman
Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) Alireza Kameli announced that contracts have been signed with two Iranian gas companies to study construction of a pipeline for exporting gas to Oman.

The Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) has been tasked with conducting studies on the offshore section of the pipeline and its contract has been signed by the managing directors of the NIGEC and IOEC from Iran and Saif Bin Hamad Al Salmani, Director General of Planning and Projects Evaluation of the Omani Ministry of Oil and Gas, Kameli said, Iran’s SHANA news agency reported.
The study on the onshore section was assigned to Pars Consulting Engineers (PCE), he said, adding that its contract was signed by NIGEC and PCE managing directors.

The offshore section envisages building a pipeline for 200 kilometers from Kuh-e Mubarak in Iran to Oman’s Sohar port in five months. The onshore section of the pipeline in Iran will be built for another 200 km from Rudan region to Kuh-e Mubarak in six months.
Iran agreed in 2013 to export 28 million cubic meters (MMcm) of gas per day to Oman through a subsea pipeline for 15 years.
