INPEX Commences Oil Production at Lianzi Field in Unitized Offshore Zone Straddling Republic of Angola and Republic of the Congo
INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) announced that it commenced oil production from Lianzi Field (the Field) situated in a unitized offshore zone straddling the Republic of Angola and the Republic of Congo in partnership with the Field’s participants, many of which are also Angola Block 14 (the Block) participants.

Through Angola Block 14 B.V., a joint venture with TOTAL, INPEX has been participating in development and production activities alongside operator Chevron and other participants in the Block.

The Field is situated 105 km offshore the Angola province of Cabinda, where the water is approximately 900m deep. Oil produced from the Field is expected to amount to approximately 40,000 barrels per day on average, and will be channeled to a platform operating within the Block prior to being sold to buyers.

INPEX will continue to proactively engage in the exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas in promising areas around the world.

About the Lianzi field

The Lianzi field is situated in a unitized offshore zone distributed equally between the Republic of Angola and the Republic of the Congo, adjacent to Angola Block 14. Participating interests in the field are held by operator Chevron Overseas (Congo) Limited (15.75%); TOTAL E&P Congo (26.75%); Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (15.5%); Angola Block 14 B.V. (10%, of which INPEX owns 4.995 percentage points); Eni (10%); Sonangol P&P (10%); SNPC (the Republic of Congo National Oil Company) (7.5%); and GALP (4.5%).

INPEX CORPORATION is Japan’s largest exploration and production (E&P) company, comparable in size and scope to other mid-tier international oil and gas E&P companies.
INPEX is currently involved in over 70 projects across more than 20 countries, including two large-scale LNG Projects, the Ichthys LNG Project in Australia and the Abadi LNG Project in Indonesia, as operator. Through sustainably growing its oil and gas development business, INPEX aims to become a top class international oil and gas E&P company following the majors by the early 2020s.
