INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) announced that it has jointly been awarded Blocks SB306A and SB306B as part of Malaysia Bid Round 2024 hosted by Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) through Malaysia Petroleum Management (“MPM”). PETRONAS through MPM, conducts the overall management of Malaysia’s petroleum resources throughout the lifecycle of upstream oil and gas assets.

In association with this, INPEX through its subsidiary, INPEX Malaysia E&P SB306A Sdn. Bhd. (“INPEX”) signed a Production Sharing Contract (“PSC”) with PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. (“PETRONAS Carigali”) and SMJ Energy Sdn. Bhd. (“SMJE”). Blocks SB306A and SB306B are offshore exploration blocks located off the coast of Sabah, offshore Malaysia.

Following the acquisition of blocks SB306A and SB306B, INPEX's portfolio in Malaysia has increased to six exploration blocks. The newly acquired blocks are expected to contribute to INPEX’s expansion of natural gas and LNG business as outlined in INPEX Vision 2035 announced in February 2025 as well as expand the company’s operations in Southeast Asia.
