IKM Ocean Design (IKM Group) has been awarded the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study for the Atlantis Pipeline system by Equinor.
Marking a key milestone in the maturation of the Atlantis field development.
Atlantis is a gas and condensate discovery in the northern North Sea, discovered in 2020 and located approximately 17 km south of Kvitebjørn. The development concept is based on a subsea tie-back to existing infrastructure, enabling a cost-efficient and low-emissions solution by leveraging existing facilities. This is one of many subsea tieback projects Equinor is planning for.
Under the awarded contract, IKM Ocean Design will deliver a comprehensive FEED study covering the full pipeline system and associated subsea infrastructure. The scope includes engineering and design of the production pipeline system (pipe-in-pipe), MEG injection pipeline, infield umbilicals, as well as risers integrating with existing infrastructure at the Kvitebjørn field.
The award builds on IKM Ocean Design’s prior delivery of the Atlantis Pipeline Concept Definition Study (2025–2026), ensuring continuity of key personnel and leveraging established knowledge of the field’s technical challenges, drawing on IKM Ocean Design’s more than 40 years of subsea and pipeline engineering expertise and extensive experience from North Sea HPHT developments.
“We are proud to continue our collaboration with Equinor on Atlantis,” said Anderson da Nova, Area Manager Oil & Gas at IKM Ocean Design. “This FEED scope demonstrates our capability to deliver fully integrated pipeline engineering solutions—from routing and mechanical design to installation and protection strategies—ensuring a safe, efficient and cost-optimized field development.”
The Atlantis project will benefit from IKM Ocean Design’s advanced engineering tools and methodologies, supporting Equinor’s ambitions for safe operations, high value creation, and reduced environmental footprint.
