GE Announces New Participant in Gas Compression Power Packager Program
GE’s Distributed Power business has expanded its new Gas Compression Power Packager program by adding Compass Compression Services Ltd (Compass Compression) as a new participant at the Platinum Level. The program is designed to provide customers in gas compression applications with enhanced access to genuine Waukesha parts and skilled service technicians.

The program increases the opportunity for end users to access expert Waukesha gas engine service technicians in growing oil and gas spaces through increased GE training to participating packaging companies. End users in these spaces can benefit from reduced engine life cycle costs through increased access to proven, genuine Waukesha parts. As a Platinum Level participant, Compass Compression can purchase genuine Waukesha parts and services directly from GE.

“Professionals active in the gas compression segment are the winners here,” said Darryl Wilson, chief commercial officer for GE’s Distributed Power business. “By welcoming a trusted company like Compass to our program, we can offer Waukesha end users in gas compression applications faster access to genuine training and service products to keep their operations running as cost-effectively as possible.”

Compass Compression is a prominent gas compression packaging company with headquarters in Calgary, Alberta, and 16 sales and service locations. Founded in 2001, Compass has expanded its parts and services division to 70 skilled personal to support an installed fleet of over 700 compressor packages.

“We are excited to provide our Waukesha end users with enhanced access to genuine GE training and products,” said John Forgeron, president of Compass Compression Ltd. “Our participation in GE’s Gas Compression Power Packager Program will help create an opportunity for our gas compression customers to reduce their engine life cycle costs through this new partnership—a serious advantage during changing economic conditions in the oil and gas industry.”
