GAS NATURAL FENOSA, through its subsidiary Gas Navarra, is to invest 4.3 million euros in the 4th Navarra Gas Infrastructure Plan, enabling the towns of Puente la Reina/Gares, Lumbier, Sartaguda, Iturmendi and Urdiain to be connected to the gas supply network over the next few weeks.

These communities will be supplied via the Falces-Iruzun gas pipeline, inaugurated in the first half of 2010. The construction of this pipeline will also encourage the development of new urban areas and industrial estates. The Regional Government of Navarra and the town councils of the communities concerned are also partners in the development of the 4th Gas Infrastructure Plan.

With the start of supplies to Puente la Reina/Gares, Lumbier, Artajona, Iturmendi and Urdiain, the company's transport and distribution network across the Autonomous Community of Navarra, currently 1,959 kilometres, will be expanded by a further 24.7 kilometres.

Presentation in Puente la Reina

The first of five public meetings to present the 4th Gas Infrastructure Plan will be held this evening. Representatives of Puente de la Reina's Town Council, the Government of Navarra and Gas Navarra will attend the presentation to be held in the town's Community Hall.

The company has invested almost 600,000 euros in the construction of over 4.5 kilometres of distribution pipeline in Puente la Reina/Gares. The works are almost complete and the first homes will be connected to the natural gas network within the next few days.

Presence in the Community

Gas Navarra currently has a distribution network of over 1,950 kilometres and has invested over 175 million euros since 1989, bringing natural gas supplies to over 170,000 homes in 130 communities and giving over 90% of the region's residents access to natural gas.
