Gas Galicia will invest 1.2 million euros to bring Natural Gas supply to the A Coruña municipality of Carral
· The company intends to start supplying the town centre this very week.

Yesterday, the Mayor of Carral, José Luis Fernández, and the manager for the Northern Area of Gas Galicia, Andrés Montero, presented the inhabitants of Carral with the service which the company will offer in the town from this week on.

During the ceremony, held at the Social Centre of the municipality, representatives of the company explained the pipeline laying stages to be carried out in the town and the steps to follow to request gas service in their homes, in addition to telling them about the advantages of natural gas.

Gas Galicia has made a major effort, with the cooperation of the Carral Town Council and the Xunta de Galicia, to advance the arrival of natural gas to this town, installing a satellite plant for liquefied natural gas (LNG) until the municipality is connected to the gas pipeline network. The LNG plant, with a storage capacity of 60 cubic metres and an investment of 400,000 euros, is situated in the Os Capelos business park.

Gasification of the municipality

The energy company will invest around 1.2 million euros in the coming years in building more than 9 kilometres of distribution network to make it possible to carry natural gas supply to over 1,200 families and businesses in the Carral town centre. The energy company, which has already built the distribution network through the main streets of the municipality, will also bring supply to the Os Capelos industrial estate.

This project forms part of the agreement signed this year with the Xunta de Galicia for the development of the Gasification Plan of the Autonomous Community of Galicia.

Operations in the Galician Autonomous Community

Gas Galicia, the distribution company of GAS NATURAL FENOSA in this Autonomous Community, has more than 217,000 gas supply points. Currently, the company supplies this energy to 52 Galician municipalities through a distribution network of over 2,600 kilometres, enabling 61.5% of the Galician population to enjoy the benefits of natural gas in their homes, factories and commercial establishments.
