Exmar: World’s first FLNG successfully completes Performance Acceptance Test
After completion of Gas Commissioning, the floating liquefaction unit Caribbean FLNG, has been performance-tested from 23 until 26 September 2016 at Wison’s shipyard in Nantong, China.

The hourly production data collected during this 72-hour performance test show that the designed production capacity of the Caribbean FLNG has been confidently met.

Feed gas for the Gas Commissioning and Performance Acceptance Test has been provided using regasified LNG without connection to a pipeline.

During the Gas Commissioning and Performance Acceptance Test of the Caribbean FLNG more than 60 technical and operational staff from EXMAR were directly involved, providing the necessary support and knowledge to the yard and having ensured that commissioning and testing were completed in accordance with international standards and the data properly processed.

The world’s first floating liquefied natural gas production facility has therefore successfully completed her Performance Acceptance Test.

Mr. Nicolas Saverys, CEO of EXMAR stated: “This performance test completion is a major milestone in our company’s floating LNG liquefaction strategy and demonstrates our leadership in FLNG solutions, allowing owners of stranded gas reserves to monetize their reserves on a very fast track basis”.

The substantial involvement of EXMAR’S technical and operations teams will ensure successful commercial operation of the Unit at any new site where she will be employed.

EXMAR thanks Wison, Black & Veatch and all sub-contractors involved for their commitment, excellent collaboration and congratulates them in reaching this milestone!
