EXMAR is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Cedar LNG Partners LP (Cedar LNG) to provide its marine and operational expertise for the Floating Liquefaction of Natural Gas Unit (“FLNG”), megúgu.
World's first Indigenous majority-owned LNG facility
Cedar, majority-owned by Haisla Nation, in partnership with Pembina Pipeline Corporation (Pembina), represents the world’s first Indigenous majority-owned LNG facility, powered by renewable electricity, making it one of the lowest carbon intensity LNG facilities in the world. Located in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada, within the traditional territory of the Haisla Nation, Cedar’s FLNG is currently under construction at Samsung Heavy Industries.

EXMAR, a pioneer in owning, operating and maintaining innovative floating LNG infrastructure assets, is proud to be entrusted with the management of marine operations & maintenance, which will include the development of dedicated operational procedures for FLNG megúgu. EXMAR’s teams will be involved during the different phases of the project, starting immediately during construction and pre-operations, in close partnership with the Cedar team, to contribute industry-leading expertise and know-how.
The engagement in this project is an important milestone and aligns with EXMAR’s historical expertise in operational excellence of sophisticated floating LNG assets.
