The National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) is set to finalize negotiations with the world's largest floating LNG company for production of liquefied natural gas, managing director of the NIGEC said.
“With the removal of sanctions and finalization of the talks, the foreign firm will start its operation in LNG production in Iran,” Alireza Kameli told Shana.
FLNG (floating liquefied natural gas) vessels are ships that turn natural gas into LNG, Kameli added.
Due to the high economic efficiency of these ships, Iran is moving toward using FLNG vessels, he said.
Kameli noted that NIGEC is seeking LNG projects in the country as well while keeping an eye on FLNG projects.
