DF Calderería Pesada (DFCP), the Duro Felguera subsidiary specializing in the manufacturing of pressure vessels for the petrochemical industry, Oil & Gas and the nuclear sector, has won various different contracts over the last few days to guarantee its workload until 2020.
The US multinational ExxonMobil recently awarded DF Calderería Pesada a contract for the design, purchase of materials and manufacturing of an FCC nickel-based steel alloy reactor for one of its refineries, in Texas.
The equipment used in the refining processes of hydrocarbon to extract products like gasoline, ethylene, diesel oil and propylene will weigh over 175 MT and measure over 25 metres in length.
Some weeks ago, the company in Gijón won a contract for the manufacturing of a propane-propylene distillation column which will be over 100 metres long and will weigh more than 1,000 MT. It will be for the new propane dehydrogenation plant in the petrochemical complex owned by the multinational Borealis in Antwerp, Belgium. The contract was won in direct competition with the main worldwide manufacturers and includes the mechanical design, the purchasing of materials and the manufacturing of the equipment.
These contract awards confirm the company's increased capacity for order intake in comparison to the last few months, endorsing the competitive advantages that have made DFCP an international benchmark in the sector.
DF Calderería Pesada is currently manufacturing a 7.5 metre diameter and 30 metre long clad sheet reactor, weighing roughly 500 MT, for a refinery in Norway.
