Dana Petroleum welcomes the recent award of a new license as Operator in the Southern North Sea next to the Tolmount Development area.
As part of the UK’s 32nd Offshore Licensing Round, Dana was successful in being awarded the license which is west of the Tolmount area in the UK Southern North Sea. Dana has a 50% operated equity stake in Blocks 42/27, 47/2b and 47/3g with partner Premier Oil also having a 50% stake. Dana has also been awarded a licence block east of Tolmount (Blocks 42/28e and 42/29b) with Premier as Operator, both companies having a 50% equity stake.
New Ventures and Exploration Manager Hugh Sloan said:
“The licence award is very welcome and follows significant technical work being carried out by Dana’s New Ventures and Exploration team. We look forward to working with our licence partner to review the potential opportunities in these areas.”
Dana is a 50% partner along with operator Premier Oil (Operator) in the Tolmount Southern North Sea gas project. Dana and Kellas Midstream Limited have formed a 50:50 infrastructure joint venture which will finance the platform and pipeline (known as the Humber Gathering System) and the modifications to Centrica’s Easington terminal to which gas will be exported. The JV will be paid a tariff for transportation of the Tolmount gas.
In addition, Dana has also recently acquired the F03c operated exploration block in the Netherlands North Sea which includes the Bokje prospect.
