Dana Petroleum brings new production online in Southern North Sea
Dana Petroleum has successfully brought 3,500 bbls/day of new production online from an infill well in the Hanze field in the Dutch sector of the North Sea.

The initial flow rate from the Hanze Infill Well A06 is around 3,500 bbls/day, of which 1,600 bbls/day is net to Dana. This nearly doubles the existing Hanze field production. The well was drilled using the jack-up Noble Lynda Bossler and is expected to deliver additional reserves and be a good producer over the next few years.

The infill well is part of a series of five infrastructure-led wells being drilled by Dana’s Netherlands business. Dana also drilled the P11-08 exploration well, in the production licence P10a from its De Ruyter platform earlier in the year. Results from this well are currently being evaluated.

Netherlands Managing Director Nick Dancer said: "Our five well drilling campaign is seeking to exploit the great potential in infrastructure-led exploration around our platforms in the Southern North Sea. We have strong exploration and production expertise in our Dutch team and we were able to bring the new Hanze production online quickly after discovery.”

About Dana Petroleum plc in the Netherlands

Our business in the Netherlands consists of a balanced portfolio of exploration, production and development projects. In 2010 our acquisition of Petro-Canada Netherlands B.V. bolstered our Central North Sea portfolio, giving us operating capability in the Netherlands and bringing an experienced management and technical team on board.

We operate seven offshore production and exploration licenses including the De Ruyter, Hanze, Van Ghent and Van Nes fields. The licence holders in the Hanze field are Dana (45%), Dyas B.V. (20%) and Oranje-Nassau Energie B.V. (35%). In addition, we have interests in 17 non-operated production and exploration licenses, both offshore and onshore. Our average annual production in 2012 was 11,700 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
