Construction TurkStream receiving terminal reaches 95%
Construction progress of the receiving terminal for the TurkStream Offshore Gas Pipeline has reached 95%. All works are in line with the schedule. First gas is expected to flow by the end of 2019.

Direct and indirect employment related to the construction activities is currently over 1,700. Approximately 100 of the workers have been recruited locally.

The TurkStream receiving terminal is realized near the town of Kiyikoy in the Turkish Thrace region. When operational, the receiving terminal will measure gas flow, temperature, pressure and composition, before the gas is fed into the Turkish gas grid.

TurkStream will have the capacity to transit 31.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year, which is equal to the energy demand of 15 million homes.

About TurkStream

TurkStream is the project for a gas pipeline stretching across the Black Sea from Russia to Turkey and further to Turkey’s border with neighboring countries. The first line of the gas pipeline is intended for the Turkish consumers, while the second line is designated for the Southern and South-Eastern Europe. Each line will have the throughput capacity of 15.75 billion cubic meters of gas per year. South Stream Transport B.V. has been carrying out project activities with regard to the offshore gas pipeline.
