In 2007, CNOOC Kingland Pipeline Co. Ltd accomplished the production of 110,000 tons of pipes, 61% of which were exported into foreign markets, including Spain, Congo, Madagascar, Belgium and other countries. Having been granted the Det Norske Vetitas Certificate, CNOOC Kingland entered European market as the first Chinese ERW (Electrical Resistance Weld) pipe supplier.

Founded on July, 17th in 2006, CNOOC Kingland is a 51-49 percent joint venture between CNOOC Oil Base Group and Zhejiang Kingland Group Co. Ltd. After its establishment, the company contracted to the manufacturing of offshore oil-gas mixed transmission pipes for Wenchang Project, and of gas transmission pipes for Fujian LNG (liquored natural gas) Project. Before the establishment of the venture, CNOOC had heavily relied on the imported ERW pipes for its offshore projects.
