On 3 September 2020, the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) announced the preliminary results of the UK 32nd Licensing Round. Chrysaor was awarded a total of 14 licences, nine as operator and five as nonoperator.
113 licences were offered to 43 operators (65 applicants in total), covering 259 blocks or part-blocks thereof.
Commenting on the award, Phil Kirk, CEO of Chrysaor said: “We have secured quality acreage around our existing infrastructure, enabling our teams to fully evaluate the remaining potential in the area and to assess the impact of any future exploration opportunities. This is a great result for us that fits well with our strategy of creating superior value through core area, infrastructure-led exploration and building a high-graded portfolio to sustain longer-term growth.”
