Chiyoda Kiewit Joint Venture Recieves Notice To Proceed on the Gulf Coast Growth Ventures Petrochemical Complex in the U.S.
Chiyoda International Corporation, a U.S. based wholly-owned subsidiary of Chiyoda Corporation, in partnership with Kiewit Energy Group Inc., has received Notice to Proceed from Gulf Coast Growth Ventures to officially move forward with engineering, procurement and construction services for its new petrochemical complex on the U.S. Gulf Coast.

This project is notably unique in that the plant facilities are to be modularized and manufactured outside the Gulf of Mexico, which would contribute to minimize the on-site construction work. Chiyoda and Kiewit were involved in the front end engineering design since July 2017.

Chiyoda, a globally excellent leader in EPC project execution, will work closely with Kiewit, a construction contractor with significant U.S. based expertise, to complete this project successfully, leveraging the two companies’ extensive experience on petrochemical and downstream projects worldwide.

Project Details

- Client:Gulf Coast Growth Ventures LLC (“GCGV”), Affiliates of ExxonMobil and SABIC
- Site: Gregory, San Patricio County, Texas
- Plant: Ethane Steam Cracker capable of producing 1.8 Million tons per year of Ethylene
- Scope: Engineering, Procurement, Module Fabrication/Transportation and Construction
