Chiyoda: EPC Contract for Freeport LNG Liquefaction Terminal
Chiyoda Corporation is pleased to announce that FLNG Liquefaction, LLC and FLNG Liquefaction 2, LLC have awarded the contract for engineering, procurement and construction for the conversion of an existing LNG re-gasification terminal in Freeport, Texas, into an LNG liquefaction terminal, in which Chiyoda will participate with CB&I and Zachry Industrial, Inc. The two train LNG liquefaction facility will have a total capacity in excess of 8.8 million tons per year of LNG.

Chiyoda’s involvement with CB&I in North American LNG projects will complement the strategic focus of not only the traditional major LNG players, represented by the international oil companies, but also of the non-traditional LNG players including the Japanese offtakers of North American-produced LNG, and their potential involvement as equity holders.

North America is in the midst of a boom in shale gas production and Chiyoda is looking to be awarded further LNG EPC contracts.
