Chiyoda Corporation (Chiyoda) is pleased to announce that Train 1 of the Golden Pass LNG Project (the Project) in Sabine Pass, Texas, has reached substantial completion of construction and commissioning. Chiyoda International Corporation (CIC), a U.S.-based, wholly-owned subsidiary of Chiyoda Corporation, together with its joint venture partner, McDermott, LLC (MDR), have substantially completed construction and commissioning of Train 1 of the Project. Golden Pass LNG Terminal LLC subsequently led start-up operations and achieved the first LNG production on Train 1, marking a landmark achievement in the delivery of one of North America’s most significant LNG developments.

Reaching first LNG is a major step forward in the Project lifecycle. It reflects the culmination of years of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, and, once fully operational, will deliver an expected production capacity of up to 6 MTPA per Train.

Following achievement of the first LNG production on Train 1, CIC and MDR will continue construction and commissioning work on Trains 2 and 3 for the Project.
