CH-IV Congratulates Freeport LNG on its FERC Order for Train 4
"We are delighted that Freeport LNG has achieved this important milestone, which gives CH-IV further reason to celebrate our 10-year relationship, which we are excited to continue."

CH-IV has provided Pre-FEED, regulatory and Owner’s engineering services to Freeport LNG and is proud to have been a part of the Freeport LNG team who recently received an Order from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) granting authorization to site, construct and operate Train 4 and its associated facilities to supplement to the next wave of LNG in the Gulf Coast.

A key client of CH-IV since 2009, Freeport LNG is already marching towards producing and exporting LNG from its three-train facility located in Freeport, Texas. During this time, CH-IV has provided Pre-FEED, regulatory and Owner’s engineering services to Freeport LNG and is proud to have been a part of the Freeport LNG team who recently received an Order from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) granting authorization to site, construct and operate Train 4 and its associated facilities to supplement to the next wave of LNG in the Gulf Coast. “We are delighted that Freeport LNG has achieved this important milestone, which gives CH-IV further reason to celebrate our 10-year relationship, which we are excited to continue.” said CH-IV President, Michael Diemert.

From its early days, CH-IV has expanded its skill set and geographic reach to now provide engineering and consulting services to global LNG clients from its two locations in the U.S and the worldwide offices of its parent company: Clough.

Clough’s recent acquisition of the Gulf Coast EPC assets of Saulsbury Industries further supports CH-IV’s growth. From its Houston offices, Clough now provides North American clients a comprehensive range of project delivery solutions from fully integrated EPC to design and construct, and construct/commissioning-only. “We are pleased to welcome our new colleagues and we will jointly leverage the complementary skills and synergies to deliver safe and smart solutions to our clients throughout the entire lifecycle of a project, from concept to operation.” says Diemert.

After its completion in 2019, the three-train facility of Freeport LNG will produce and export some 15 mtpa of LNG, with production units starting sequentially between Q4 2018 (Train 1) and Q3 2019 (Train 3). The fourth liquefaction unit will allow for the export of an additional five million tons of LNG per year, increasing the total export capability of the project to over 20 mtpa of LNG.

About CH-IV International

Established in 2001, CH-IV International (CH·IV) provides consulting services to LNG asset developers, regulators, facility owners, operators and lenders to ensure assets are designed, developed, constructed and operated safely and in accordance with codes, regulations, and the project’s technical and commercial specifications.

CH-IV specializes in the provision of engineering and consulting services to the global LNG sector in North America, Asia, Africa, Europe, the Pacific Rim and South America.

CH-IV.com has provided services to most US LNG export projects that sit before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and is a technical leader in the design of bunkering systems for ships using LNG for engine fuel. In 2014, CH-IV was acquired by Australian engineering and construction company Clough.

About Freeport LNG
