Bumi Armada achieves final acceptance on the Armada Kraken FPSO
Malaysia-based international offshore energy facilities and services provider Bumi Armada Berhad announced that its Armada Kraken Floating Production Storage and Offloading (“FPSO”) vessel has been issued with the final acceptance certificate (“Final Acceptance”). Final Acceptance was completed in accordance with the requirements set out in the bareboat charter contract dated 20 December 2013 (as supplemented by Amendment Agreement Number One, dated 19 August 2016, and Amendment Agreement Number Two, dated 27 August 2018) (“Bareboat Charter”).

Commenting on the Final Acceptance of the Armada Kraken FPSO, Mr. Leon Harland, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bumi Armada said, “Final Acceptance is the milestone that the offshore and onshore teams have all been working hard for and they have done so with a major focus on safeguarding our people and the environment, as well as ensuring maximum production and uptime for this complex heavy oil project. We can gladly state that the Final Acceptance has now been achieved in accordance with the Bareboat Charter, and we did so without any major safety incident.

I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the Armada Kraken FPSO project. It has been a united effort and where many of our people, including those in support roles, have persevered to complete the Final Acceptance of the unit. A special note of thanks to our projects and operations teams that have been working offshore in a difficult operational environment whilst maintaining a consistent high focus on the safety of activities. Finally, I would like to thank our clients, EnQuest and Cairn for their support. I would also like to add that Final Acceptance is merely a milestone and that we continue to be fully committed to improving and delivering the high safety and reliable performance that Bumi Armada is known for on its fleet operations”

About EnQuest

EnQuest is one of the largest UK independent producers in the UK North Sea. EnQuest PLC trades on both the London Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ OMX Stockholm. Its operated assets include Thistle/Deveron, Heather/ Broom, the Dons area, Magnus, the Greater Kittiwake Area, Scolty/Crathes Alma/Galia and Kraken; EnQuest also has an interest in the non-operated Alba producing oil field. At the end of December 2017, EnQuest had interests in 25 UK production licences and was the operator of 23 of these licences.

EnQuest believes that the UKCS represents a significant hydrocarbon basin, which continues to benefit from an extensive installed infrastructure base and skilled labour. EnQuest believes that its assets offer material organic growth opportunities, driven by exploitation of current infrastructure on the UKCS and the development of low risk near field opportunities.

EnQuest is replicating its model in the UKCS by targeting previously underdeveloped assets in a small number of other maturing regions; complementing its operations and utilising its deep skills in the UK North Sea. In which context, EnQuest has interests in Malaysia where its operated assets include the PM8/Seligi Production Sharing Contract and the Tanjong Baram Risk Services Contract.
