Amec Foster Wheeler wins steam reformer contract in Russia
http://www.euro-petrole.com/amec-foster-wheeler-er-3609-sc-44Amec Foster Wheeler announces a contract for the engineering and material supply of a steam reformer heater for hydrogen production for JSC Orsknefteorgsintez refinery at Orsk, Russia.

The heater will be based on Amec Foster Wheeler's proprietary Terrace WallTM design and form part of a new 75,000 Nm3/h hydrogen production unit to be installed at one of the leading refineries in Russia.

Andy Hemingway, Vice President, Global Process Technology:
"We have a long and very successful track record in designing and supplying heaters for the Russian market and this award constitutes another vote of confidence in the quality and reliability of our heaters.

Our proprietary Terrace WallTM fired heater design is a unique and fully proven global technology of which we are justifiably proud. It is part of our wider suite of innovative technologies which support our customers across the world."

About Terrace WallTM technology

Amec Foster Wheeler acts as a designer and supplier of the heart of the hydrogen production unit: the steam reformer heater. The steam reformer heater, Amec Foster Wheeler's Terrace WallTM type, is characterised by a specific firing arrangement and sloped-wall radiant section design that, together, optimise the heat flux distribution towards catalyst tubes enabling long catalyst tube life (often in excess of 100,000 hours) and delivering the flexibility to extend a reformer's operating envelope. This often allows production of hydrogen in excess of the design capacity of the hydrogen production unit, which may in turn deliver additional economic benefits. Amec Foster Wheeler's reformers can operate with ultra-low-NOx burners to meet tightening environmental emission standards worldwide.

In addition to its more than 200 Terrace WallTM steam reformers, Amec Foster Wheeler has licensed more than 100 hydrogen production units to the refining and petrochemical industries in more than 40 countries, for a total capacity exceeding 3 Billion of SCFD.

Amec Foster Wheeler has been winning projects in Russia for more than 80 years and in 1996 we established a permanent presence in Moscow.
