AMEC awarded L110 million North Sea contract extension from BG Group
AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has been awarded a two-year contract extension from BG Group to continue to provide engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project management support for all of BG Group’s facilities in the central North Sea.

The contract is valued at around £110 million and is scheduled to run through to December 2015. The extension follows on from the original three-year contract award in 2011.

Under that original contract AMEC successfully completed a number of major projects including two subsea tie backs from the Gaupe, North West Seymour wells and a subsequent major topside modification of the Armada platform, topside modifications on the North Everest platform and a subsea tie back as part of the Everest East expansion.

Alan Johnstone, Managing Director of AMEC’s brownfield business (Europe) said: “AMEC has been supporting BG Group with brownfield engineering and construction services since our first contract award in 2006 and we are delighted to be continuing in our long-term relationship with them. We look forward to another two years of delivery for BG Group and the North Sea.”

AMEC has an exemplary safety record on the project having achieved 7 million man hours without a Lost Time Incident (LTI).
