Aker Solutions has joined the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers, a key voice in promoting safety and sustainability for the global petroleum industry.
Aker Solutions becomes only the fourth oil services company to join the group, which serves as a global partner for industry regulators in setting standards for safety, environmental and social performance.
"Promoting a sustainable oil and gas industry is key to our company vision,” said Dean Watson, chief operating officer at Aker Solutions. “Joining IOGP allows us to collaborate with our customers, peers and other key E&P stakeholders to further this crucial effort.”
IOGP’s members produce about 40 percent of the world’s oil and gas and operate across the globe. The association is a key upstream forum used to identify and share knowledge and good practices to achieve improvements in health, safety, environmental effects, security and social responsibility.
“Given the importance of services companies to our industry, IOGP welcomes the addition of Aker Solutions to our association. We look forward to benefiting from their experience and insights across the breadth of our activities,” said IOPG’s Executive Director Gordon Ballard.
For Aker Solutions this will be great opportunity to share its vision of a sustainable industry. IOGP will be a good arena to meet all the industry’s biggest companies. The company plans to play an active role in the group’s extensive focus areas, sharing its expertise in the arctic and in the subsea segment.

About IOGP
The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) is the voice of the global upstream industry. Oil and gas continue to provide a significant proportion of the world’s energy to meet growing demands for heat, light and transport.
Our Members produce more than a third of the world’s oil and gas. They operate in all producing regions: the Americas, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, the Caspian, Asia and Australia.
We serve industry regulators as a global partner for improving safety, environmental and social performance. We also act as a uniquely upstream forum in which our Members identify and share knowledge and good practices to achieve improvements in health, safety, the environment, security and social responsibility.
