AGR hits 500 wells milestone
AGR has drilled its 500th well. The latest milestone in the company’s successful development represents an average of one new drilling project started every 10 days since 2000.

In that time AGR has delivered drilling projects for 106 clients in 25 countries, spanning six continents.

The remarkable achievement was marked with celebrations at AGR’s offices around the world, including Aberdeen, Oslo, Stavanger and Perth, Australia.

AGR has drilled wells for clients in every possible environment including deepwater and ultra-deepwater, HPHT, the Hoop area of the Barents Sea and a number of sensitive environments. The projects they have delivered cover the entire oilfield lifecycle, from exploration, through appraisal to development and production wells.

Åge Landro, AGR’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Reaching this remarkable milestone of 500 wells around the world is a fantastic achievement for us and one of which we are all very proud. Among the list of the world’s top 10 operators we are the only well management company to have drilled such a high number of offshore exploration wells globally.

“Over the past 13 years we have worked continuously to develop and adapt our services to meet the needs of our clients and add value to their operations efficiently and safely. For example we have led the market by pioneering the multi-client, multi-well drilling campaign model.”

“The real key is having the best people on our team, from office desk to oil field. I would like to thank everyone involved in our operations around the world for their commitment, skill and hard work in helping us achieve this success.”

Last year AGR took the innovative step outside of creating a dedicated Rig Team to try to ensure that the best available rigs are secured for their clients’ projects. With unrivalled experience in managing rig campaigns in the major oil hubs around the world, AGR is well positioned to facilitate rig access and secure preferential rates for parties involved.

Additionally, the company has established a comprehensive Well Delivery Process to enable consistency of service delivery and ensure lessons learned on projects are captured to drive continuous improvement, without compromising HSEQ.

Companies that use AGR’s supply chain and established contracts can leverage reduced rates and fast access to a wide variety of third party services, enabling cost effective project delivery in accelerated time frames.
