On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at SONATRACH headquarters in Algiers, four MoUs were signed between the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and Sonatrach to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of petroleum operations and services, training, and expertise exchange.
The first MoU, signed between the National Company of Geophysics (ENAGEO), a subsidiary of SONATRACH, and the North African Geophysical Exploration Company (NAGECO), a subsidiary of the NOC, focused on geophysical exploration activities.
The second MoU, signed between the National Well Services Company (ENSP), a subsidiary of Sonatrach, and the Jowfe Oil Technology (JOT), a subsidiary of the NOC, concerns the provision of petroleum services in Algeria, Libya, and abroad.
The third MoU, signed between SONATRACH/Exploration and Production – Laboratories Division and the Petroleum Research Center, concerns laboratory work, analysis, and petroleum research. It aims to conduct joint work within the framework of partnership projects between SONATRACH and the NOC.
The fourth MoU, which concerns training and knowledge transfer, was signed between SONATRACH and the National Oil Corporation (NOC). It aims to cooperate in the field of training and know-how transfer in all disciplines related to the oil and gas sector in both countries.
The Libyan side was represented at the signing ceremony by:
-Hussain Safar, Member of the Board of Directors of the NOC and Chairman of the Steering Committee for Joint Cooperation between the NOC and SONATRACH;
-Bashir Garea, Member of the Steering Committee for Joint Cooperation between the NOC and SONATRACH;
-Mohamed Bishr, General Director of the Training and Development Department;
-Faisal Miloud, Director of the Drilling Department;
-Adel Elbay, Secretary of the Steering Committee;
-Khaled Alati, General Manager of the Oil Research Center;
-Nasser Alzawi, Member of the Management Committee of Jowfe Company;
-Majid Alarbed, Chairman of the Management Committee of North African Geophysical Exploration Company.
It is worth noting that the signing of these MoUs with SONATRACH reinforces the profound and ongoing strategic partnership between the two parties and demonstrates the NOC’s commitment to developing strong, sustainable, and strategic partnerships with SONATRACH.
