The Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery completes its switch-over to the exclusive production of Euro-5 standard diesel fuels in 2014, while retaining its market-leading position as Russia’s highest-volume refinery
The Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery completed its switch-over to the exclusive production of Euro-5 standard diesel fuels in 2014, increasing production volumes two-fold on 2013 levels, to 6.3 million tonnes. Output of high-octane gasolines increased on last year’s levels by 2.5 percent, to 4.4 million tonnes. The most significant increase — of 30 percent — was recorded in the production of high-octane Premium Euro-95 gasoline, output of which totalled 1.3 million tonnes last year.

The Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery also retained its market-leading position in Russia by total refining volumes, processing 21.3 million tonnes of crude oil — 5.2 percent more than in 2013. On which basis, the refinery reached almost maximum capacity — the refinery’s total capacity being 21.4 million tonnes. Refining depth also increased, to 93.02 percent — the best performance in the sector.

The Omsk Refinery also produced 3.5 million tonnes of marine (bunkering) fuels last year — a 34-percent increase on 2013 levels. Production of aviation kerosene was also up 12.6 percent, to 1.7 million tonnes.

2014 saw six product categories from the Omsk Refinery recognised in the 2014 “Russia’s 100 Best Products” awards, nominated in the “Industrial and technical goods” category, with Super Euro-98 gasoline and Euro diesel fuel (specifically designed for cold climates) awarded gold, and Regular-92 gasoline, petroleum asphalt BND90/130, PA LPG, and KEP-2 calcined petroleum coke all winners in their respective categories.
