WorleyParsons has been appointed to provide detailed engineering and procurement services for the tankfarm, piperack, and flare units of Phase 1 of the North West Redwater Partnership’s greenfield bitumen refinery project, located in Sturgeon County, approximately 45km northeast of Edmonton in the Alberta’s Industrial Heartland area.
The work will be performed by WorleyParsons in its Edmonton, Toronto and Mumbai offices, beginning immediately. Phase 1 commercial operations are targeted for September 2017. The value of services to be provided by WorleyParsons is approximately $130 million CAD.
The North West Redwater Partnership is a joint venture between North West Upgrading Inc. and Canadian Natural Upgrading Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Natural Resources Limited. Phase 1 of the $8.5B Sturgeon Refinery project is designed to process 50,000 barrels per day of bitumen.
