Chiyoda Corporation , JGC Corporation, Technip, and South Korean contractors GS Engineering & Construction and SK Engineering & Construction announced that the joint venture , formed by JGC, Chiyoda, Technip, GS and SK, has received notification of the award of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for the Nghi Son refinery and petrochemical complex in the Nghi Son economic zone in northern Vietnam.

This project is a grassroots oil refinery and petrochemical complex, which will be the second refinery in Vietnam. It aims to satisfy the increasing demand for petroleum products in Vietnam as well as to produce petrochemicals for export. The Nghi Son refinery and petrochemical complex will, together with Vietnam's first refinery, the Dung Quat refinery, be the major buttress supporting the country's economic development.
