The CLH storage facility in Castellanos de Moriscos is now fully operational
Today, the mayor of Castellanos de Moriscos, Agustín Sánchez, and the Territorial Delegate of Junta of Castile and León for Salamanca, Bienvenido Mena, accompanied by General Manager of the CLH Group, Salvador Guillén, the General Director of Resources, Basilio Navarro and the General Director of Operations, Juan Bonilla, visited the new storage facility that CLH has brought into service in Castellanos de Moriscos (Salamanca).

This new facility, which is now fully operational, involved an investment of more than 21 million euros and replaces the facility had been owned and operated in the city of Salamanca since 1935, meaning that the land formerly occupied can now be recovered for other town-planning uses.

The CLH storage facility in Castellanos de Moriscos is situated in an area known as Camino Paraje Villoria, on a piece of land measuring 150,000 square metres, and has 9 tanks with a total capacity of 76,210 cubic metres. This new infrastructure improves the oil product storage and distribution system in the Autonomous Community of Castile and León.

The plant is connected to the Valladolid-Salamanca pipeline and has an automated tank truck loading area with four loading racks. It is also fitted with sophisticated communications and control equipment that makes it possible to manage all the activities that are relevant for its operation, and is operational around the clock every day of the year.

This new storage facility has been designed with a view to minimising any impact on the environment. It therefore has environmental protection systems that include a rainwater collection network that is separate from the hydrocarbon-polluted water network, a system for treating hydrocarbon-polluted water and a vapour recovery unit.

Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos CLH is the leading company in the Spanish market for the transportation and storage of oil products, with a pipeline network more than 4,000 kilometres long, and 39 storage facilities, with a total capacity of 7.9 million cubic metres, in addition to 28 airport facilities.

The CLH pipeline network in the Autonomous Community of Castile and León is more than 490 kilometres long and connects the four storage facilities the company has in this autonomous region, in León, Burgos, Santovenia de Pisuerga and Press release Salamanca, with the rest of the pipeline network in the town of Miranda de Ebro. This network also has two pumping stations, in Palencia and Santovenia de Pisuerga. Through its subsidiary CLH Aviación, CLH is also present in Salamanca airport, where aviation fuel is supplied to the airlines operating at this terminal.

During 2012, the company supplied around 2.5 million cubic metres of fuels to the various oil companies through its facilities in the Autonomous Community of Castile and León, in order to meet demand from the end users located there.
