On June 11, Samsung Heavy Industries won a KRW 576.4 billion contract to supply one drill ship to Ensco, a UK drilling company. Ensco is a global drilling company that operates more than 80 drill ships, including drill ships and semi-submersible drill ships.

With this recent order, Samsung Heavy Industries has now won orders for a total of eight units of drill ships from Ensco. In fact, Samsung Heavy Industries has now won orders for 59 of the 139 units of drill ships ever ordered worldwide, giving it a market share of 42%. The drill ship that has just been ordered will be delivered in the second half of 2015.
